Thanksgiving - Give Thanks That You Can Give Thanks

Romans 1:21

“For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

Reflection:

The “they” in this sentence is me and you. We, by our choice to sin, effectively chose to be thankless creatures. It is as though we willingly chose to live naked in a dark box made of cold metal, shut away from the light and warmth of the love of God. What a sad existence, to live ungrateful lives to the one who gives us life!

Praise the Lord that He, in His grace, is willing to shine the light of His grace on our cold hearts, melting away our sin and replacing that cold heart with one that glows with deep fondness and praise for Him! Christian, give thanks that you can give thanks to God!

In Christ,
